About
ENGGYAC is dedicated to engaging young alumni through enriching social, networking, educational, and volunteer opportunities. The Council focuses on enhancing alumni engagement by providing strategic advice and developing innovative programs. We do this through our five sub-councils: Community, Equity Diversity & Inclusion, Professional Development & Mentorship, Networking, and YYC (Calgary).
ENGGYAC’s mission is driven by four core values: Connection, Contribution, Inclusion, and Learning. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and engaging environment where meaningful connections can evolve among alumni, professionals, industry partners, and the broader community, while celebrating diversity and encouraging lifelong learning. Our aim is to contribute to and support the community, industry, and educational institutions, creating a fun, welcoming atmosphere for all.
We achieve our mission through various initiatives and activities designed to engage and support young alumni. These include organizing networking events, workshops, and seminars that promote professional development and mentorship opportunities. Our community-focused projects and volunteer events provide avenues for alumni to give back and stay connected with their community and connect with other engineers.
In addition to our structured programs, ENGGYAC actively seeks to create policies and strategies that further enhance the engagement and inclusion of young alumni. We collaborate with the Faculty of Engineering, industry partners, community groups, and nonprofits, to develop programs that are responsive to the needs and aspirations of our members.
By promoting a culture of continuous learning and growth, ENGGYAC helps young alumni navigate their careers and personal development paths, fostering a strong, supportive network that extends beyond their time at the university. Through our dedicated efforts, we aim to make a lasting, positive impact on the engineering community and beyond.
